Pete Kane, Pastor
Pete Kane has been a member of Calvary Baptist Church (CBC) since 1986 and Pastor since March, 2020. Since first joining in 1986, he has served in many capacities from Youth Director to Deacon and Director of Evangelical Outreach and training. He’s also the guy responsible for the signs out front. If you see him while you’re driving by, beep and wave!
As a servant of Christ, Pete understands that laboring with and for Christ is the ultimate labor of Love. He understands that we cannot even speak the name of God without acknowledging that He is Love.
Marta Kane is Pete’s wife and completes him as God has decreed the union of man and woman should make them one. (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:5, Mark 10:8, Ephesians 5:31) Together, they have poured out their lives in ministry to the church and their community at large. Their hearts beat to serve Christ in whatever capacity they are called. Before becoming pastor, they traveled to Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, New Zealand and Myanmar on missions trips.
Pete also has a passion for missions and missionaries. He is mindful of those that sacrifice ties to home, family and church to reach the lost on foreign soil. Pete knows that missionaries are called apart and he realizes that their citizenship lies not in countries, but in Heaven. Although this knowledge lessens their burden, he knows that their work cannot be done without spiritual and financial support from churches all over the world. As a church body, CBC supports 13 missionaries as of April 2021 and hopes to increase that number exponentially.
Previous to becoming the pastor at CBC, Pete was Director of an environmental chemistry testing facility and also worked for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. He retired early in order to pastor Calvary Baptist Church.
Pete’s life verse is: Galatians 6:14 “But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world”.
Pete and the rest of the members look forward to meeting you soon!
